Sept 6th: Cape Cod

Friday, Sept 6th:  Plymouth rock, oh boy....a rock with an inscribed date of 1620.  Is half of the original and has been moved from the original spot.  How does anyone know this?  It was pretty cool anyway to see where Thanksgiving started.

After that excitement, we self-toured the Cape Cod Potato Chip factory.  Hey, it was a thrill to see all those potatoes made into kettle cooked ships and we even got two, yes that's right TWO, bags of 0.5 ounces of chips!

Now into Hyannis for oysters at Naked Oyster and Roger really enjoyed the food.  It was a beautiful day to sit outside, people watch, eat, and enjoy a great bottle of wine.

Not done yet, we found another American Legion in Sandwich. (Sandwich is the oldest town in Massachusetts.)  These were the friendliest vets who visited with us and started buying rounds of drinks.  As the Commander said, this is the lahgest (that's how they pronounce largest!) legion in Massachusetts.

Back to the campsight for laundry (what, another load?!) and a fire.  Blue met two new friends at the dog park who were both 6 months old. He took a liking to Iona and after playing, running he decided to hump her! How/why does he do that when he has no balls!!!! Prison life, we guess.

Plymouth rock:  See Roger in background.  Gretchen was trying to get him into the picture so he bent down and she was giving him instructions to bend and then wave.  People around us enjoyed the amusement we were giving them with the picture taking!

Mayflower II.  Don't know what happened to "I".  Sure is small and imagine 100 people on it but only 1/2 half survived.  Happy Thanksgiving to the survivors.

The bay where the Mayflower entered.

Jack Nicholson at the potato chip factory.

Naked Oyster in Hyannis.  There's Jack again.

Just a happy couple at the Naked Oyster.

Picture on top is oysters, barbeque with carmelized onions and bacon.  Roger loved these.  Bottom is his other favorite, just raw oysters.
Now watch this:  See the tabsco that Roger is pouring on his oysters?  Next picture please....

splish, splash on Gretchen's white shorts!  Water, ice, club soda didn't work.  Neither did stain remover.

Lahgest American Legion post in Massachusetts.

Another beautiful KOA.  Looks like we will be back after the football game with our friend, Bill.
